Associated Fire Protection is seeking skilled Fire Protection Technicians as well as Fire Protection Apprentices to join our team. As a Fire Protection Technician, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, performing repairs and maintaining various types of fire protection systems and equipment. Essential Functions- including but not limited to:

• Performing installation, testing, repair, inepecstions, and programming as applicable, on fire protection systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot fire protection systems and equipment.
• Complete inspection reports and repair work orders via mobile device and submit them on a timely basis.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Pull material for job as required.
• Communicate with customers to review work and answer any service, quality or technical questions.
• Other job specific functions may be required depending on level.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service.

• This position includes a lot of interaction with customers and coworkers. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively and enjoy collaboration with others.

Requirements

Qualifications, Experience and Education- including but not limited to:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working for fire protection systems, or related systems is required for expereince roles.
• Must be able to obtain any licenses or certifications as required in the area that you are working.
• Experience working with fire protection and suppression systems is preferred.
• Perform simple tasks independently.
• Knowledge of local and national fire protection codes.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Computer, phone and tablet literate.
• Well organized, self-motivated, flexible and a team player.
• Must be able to drive to and from jobs and have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
• Emergency Service shifts are a requirement for this job. Qualified candidates must be able to respond to NY emergency service calls.
